First Step at a Foreign Land... Lagos Nigeria

It was December 19, 2014 when I arrived here at Lagos. I’m here because my husband works here. I am staying for quite some time with him.

Airport was non-air condition but organized from Immigration up to luggage pick-up. However I was culture shocked when I got into the airport because there were commotions from new arrivals and airport personnel.  Then someone asked me what do I have for her. I have food on hand (food from the plane). She didn't want it, she wants Naira. Unfortunately I don’t have money with me. So I just went straight to the exit door. And look for a familiar face... my husband.

My first observations of the place from the car: The weather was humid. We walked all the way from the airport up to the parking lot with my 25lbs luggage. No adjustment for me on the climate. Traffic was heavy and no differences on houses and establishments. I found interesting carpets, nice colors and maybe nice materials. Lots of bags, shoes and fruits stores. Taxis, Buses and TukTuk were their mode of transportation. I saw lots of bank building and establishments on the road. There usual clothes were semi-formal to formal even though it was hot. And I saw local who wore colorful clothes. I don’t know yet what they call it. And one prominent caught my attention was how they carry their child. They carry them on their back with cloth holding the kid stable.

More days for me to learn the culture and place I was set foot on.

OUR BIG DAY: Priest (FR. GOMER, FR. RANDYand FR. LEO)

My husband and I were very thankful to our most beloved priests who  officiated our wedding. Ofcourse they were Kuya-Father Gomer  (During his ---- when he wwas still a brother he stayed with us) , Kuya-Father Randy Rodriguez (Together with Kuya GOmer he also stayed with us during his --- when they were still brothers). I asked both of them to celebrate with us. Because Kuya-father Gomer at that time just came from Italy for his spiritual learning. So he doesn’t have license to solemnize marriage. So I also asked Kuya-Father Randy to be the one to sanctify our wedding vows.

Then by surprise Kuya-Father Leo Del Carmen all the way from USA came home to celebrate my wedding with us. I am so touch and thankful for his effort. Kuya-Father Leo was the priest I grew up with. He saw me from little girl up to I am a lady. He spends time with my family and grew very close to us.

I was very delighted by seeing three of my most loved priest spends and sanctify our marriage all together.

OUR BIG DAY: Church (SAN ANTONIO DE PADUA QUASI, Silang Cavite)

The beauty of the church is incredibly magnificent.

The facade was gorgeous adds to the drama of the church.

Walls are great color, rustic and dramatic. The altar was overwhelming, color gold altar complements perfectly with the magnificent paintings and color at the altar ceiling. (It looks brown on antique on the picture, actually). The flooring complements with the color of the church to complete its dramatic look. I just love this church so much.

The personnel were nice and accommodating. Downside is they have a long lunch break and personnel in-charge is not around but there will be someone to accommodate.  On the day, we were assisted at the church by personnel in-charge. And they followed all our request on the church.

And most especially they have flexible rules when it comes to interview process and confession rules. My husband was working abroad and his only here for a month. So 3x Saturday seminars and 3weeks call on our respective churches after interview ware not applicable to both of us. We just submitted documents we need.

Time availability was flexible. You can choose from morning up to late afternoon.

They have 2 colors of carpets, green and red. Green complements very well with our flowers. Candles were available on their office.

They have priest available but i brought our family friend priest.

Advised to bring car whenever going to the church. Commuting suck’s here especially when their assigned mode of transportation was jeepney because they wait couple of hours for passengers to come. So we ended up waiting for 1 hour and 25 minutes.

But this won’t  cover the magnificent church beneath Pooc Silang, Cavite.

5/5 for my church love...

Hotel:

We payed for Php 8000.00 for 2 rooms. Rooms are good for 4 peeps all adults. Rooms are so neat and new. Place was so quiet and serene. Good for relaxation and time to think and to be alone.

Staff were so accommodating and very nice. My mother and mother in-law made small talks with the staff.

Breakfast for 2 were included, (though I didn't have a chance to taste it, because hubby and I we're busy swimming) as per my mom was quite ok. Tocino, Hotdog and fried rice were he breakfast they served. They are not strict on bringing food inside. No corkage fee. They will also lend you plates, spoon and forks to use. They can also buy foods that u want that they don't have on their menu. Because my mom wanted to have some pandesal. They offered  us that they will buy some. But suddenly my mother change her mind..

Preparation shoot was made here, staff are very helpful on giving our needs. They even let photographers use all the locations for their shoot. Meeting room, Rooftop and ladders etc.

What I dislike on them was the payment for he 2 kids (nephew of my hubby) who swim during the preparation shoot. We paid 300 per kids. So in total of Php 600, expensive for an hour and half of swimming. Kids can't handle the temptation of the water so they jump on the pool.

But all in all, I love the place. Perfect for what I wanted for preparation of my day. I wanted it to be mostly color green and with blue or water. I don't like hotel type preparation. I really look for places like this. So serene so green so nice and good in the eyes and picture. I highly recommend this place not just for preparation of the wedding but also for good place for relaxation. And also for family gathering and outing. So nice place..

Give them 5/5.
